It’s been a rollercoaster first few years in the industry for Thunder Rosa.

Inspired by watching a number of all-female promotions, Rosa took up the sport professionally in 2014.

Very early on in her career, she caught the eye of many promotions. And it was one of these in Lucha Underground where Rosa got her first big break.

Initially, this proved to be a daunting experience, but one she grasped and made the most of.

In her time with LU, she learned from the top stars around her. This included the likes of Rey Mysterio and Ricochet.

Sadly, like with many before her, Rosa’s time with Lucha Underground ended on a sour note. But she soon rebounded quickly.

Indeed, when NWA announced their return to weekly programming, Thunder Rosa was one of their marquee names.

Her debut on Power added intrigue to a product which quickly caught on with fans.

Her early alliance with Melina springboarded her to the forefront of the product. But whilst her appearance and character initially got folks attention, Rosa’s in-ring work soon began to eclipse that.

She was quickly surpassing her more experienced colleague in the peaking order, as fans cried out for her to get a shot at NWA’s top honours.

The cries were soon answered when Rosa challenged Allysin Kay at NWA Hard Times. The contest has been dubbed one of the best of 2020 so far, with Rosa achieving her dream of becoming NWA Women’s Champion.

A few short weeks removed from that night, Steven spoke to Thunder Rosa about that night, plus her career to this point.
