The road from comic YouTube sensation to wrestling manager isn’t one traveled often.

But that is exactly the route which has seen Neil ‘The Wee Man’ Bratchpiece become well known to wrestling fans across Scotland.

It was back in 2007 that The Wee Man first came to prominence. It was then that he recorded ‘Here You’, better known to many as The Ned Song.

Recorded mostly off the River Clyde, he satired the stereotypical Scottish ned. The song would be become a viral sensation, amassing over 3.5 million YouTube views.

Soon afterwards, The Wee Man ventured into wrestling through Insane Championship Wrestling.

Initially, he transitioned his Ned character into the company as the manager of The Bucky Boys, leading the pair to tag team title glory.

As his time with the promotion has went on, Wee Man has developed with him.

Recent years have seen him put his up-beat style of managing behind him and became more of an old-school heel.

Labeling himself ‘the best manager in British wrestling’ and ‘Manager of Champions’, he has built a solid list of clientele. This includes Ashton Smith and Rampage Brown, The P.O.D, as well as three-time ICW Women’s Champion Kasey.

Overall, it has been quite the journey for the actor and comedian.

Here, he talks to Derek Kernahan on his career to date and his views on the wrestlers he manages. He also into where his passion for wrestling comes from and his transition into the sport.
