It’s the one night a year where the superstars of RAW and Smackdown fight for brand supremacy.
Survivor Series has been a staple of the WWE pay-per-view calendar since 1987. Coming hot off the heels of the successful Wrestlemania 3, the company used the event as one of their first major plays into the lucrative PPV market.
The event is traditionally characterised by its use of multi-person elimination tag team matches, known now as ‘Survivor Series matches’. The reintroduction of the brand split in 2016 saw Survivor Series being used to showcase the battle with the company’s main two shows.
With seven main card matches, the 2018 edition will be no different. Two of these major Survivor Series elimination bouts will highlight the show, featuring the top male and female stars on the brands.
The show will also feature the battles of the top-tier champions from both RAW and Smackdown, although the last week as seen these matchups take a turn.
Following the broken nose she received on RAW’s closing brawl on Monday, Becky Lynch is out. Taking Lynch’s place in the match with RAW Women’s Champ Ronda Rousey is Charlotte Flair.
The Man wasn’t the only one forced off the card. So too was AJ Styles, but in different circumstances. The Phenomenal One’s year long WWE Title reign ended this past Tuesday at the hands of Daniel Bryan. Bryan’s award is a date with The Beast Brock Lesnar this Sunday.
With all this to come and more, Ross and the team look ahead to Survivor Series 2018 discussing the build up, matches and predictions.
