2019 was a successful year for Source Wrestling.
The Glasgow-based wrestling school built off the strong reputation they’d acquired for producing top UK talent.
Under the leadership of first Killian Dain and now Mikey Whiplash, Source has produced some of the best Scotland has produced, including Joe Coffey and Nikki Cross.
On top of producing, the promotion has been known for bringing in other top UK and international stars to their shows. Such stars have also held seminars to help in part their knowledge onto the next batch of wrestlers coming through.
Acknowledging the success they’ve had to-date, 2020 will see the promotion take the next step forward by crowning their first ever Tag Team Champions.
Over the course of the year, eight teams from the British and Irish isles will compete in a single elimination tournament.
Before the tournament officially kicks off, Suplex Retweet caught up with six of the teams to gauge their thoughts heading in.
Two of the teams we’ve spoke to before in the form of i-Gen – Kieran Kelly and Craig Anthony and KoE. Another is one high in the current ICW pecking order in the form of Ravie Davie and Zander, The Govan Team.
Source regulars Matt Daly and Scott McManus will look to impress, as will two teams from associate promotion Reckless. Fair City Saints and The Deadly Sins may be unknowns to some, but they could fancy themselves to cause an upset.
