Will Kofi Kingston finally get his shot?
Greatest Wrestlers Who Never Reached The Mountain Top
On this weeks edition of Smackdown LIVE, Kofi Kingston achieved the impossible by going through five of WWE top wrestlers in a gauntlet match, appearing to have earned a WWE Title shot against Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania.
However, Vince McMahon would proceed to throw the New Day member a curve ball and forced him to face one more opponent – Bryan himself – where he would fall short, seemingly delayed the inevitable bout between the two at the Grandest Stage of them All.
When the match is finally confirmed, it would mark the first one-on-one world championship opportunity for the Ghanaian who has won every other belt the company has to offer over his 11 year WWE tenure.
Such a lack of a world title run led Kofi to be one of the many wrestlers highlighted in our show back at the end of January: Greatest Wrestlers Who Never Reached The Mountain Top.
With Allan McLucas debuting in the hosting chair, the panel discussed some of the greatest wrestlers who’ve never won a World Title in WWE and some of the current superstars who’ve had a stellar career but not won it as yet (like Kofi).
