ICW and NXT UK star Kenny Williams speaks to Suplex Retweet
Listen now on
When news broke that Kenny Williams was joining WWE, it took very little by surprise.
His talent and athleticism was obvious from the moment he first debuted on the scene at ICW. With a style similar to the great Cruiserweights of the late 90s and early 2000s, he immediately caught the eye of the fan base.
This led to a rapid rise up the card, and a year after debuting, he was crowned ICW Zero-G Champion, a belt he would hold a joint record three times.
You know you have something when you are chosen to face off with Rey Mysterio at the SSE Hydro. This was a true sign that the The Lucky Yin had the faith of the company in such a big spot.
His hard work would soon pay off further when he was selected as one of the 16 men in the second WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament. And despite not making it past the first round, Kenny made a enough of a mark to now be a part of the new NXT UK roster.
We had a chat with Kenny just after the tournament, talking about his WWE involvement and his career to date in ICW, training with PBW and goals for the future.
