One year. One whole year creating podcast content.
It feels like a lifetime ago that Eat Sleep Suplex Retweet started off with a small listener base. Even then, the story of our inception goes back a bit further.
It was the year 2015 and our main host, Steven Wilson, thought it would be a good idea to start a wrestling blog. Over his past years working and studying a university, he managed to make a number of friends who shared his love for professional wrestling. At the times, there weren’t as many podcasts around so a blog seemed the most natural fit to discuss their passion.
At first, it started off well but other commitments so the project fade into the background. Two years passed, but Steven contacts grew. And after he interview ICW owner Mark Dallas for a charity radio podcast, he thought now was the time to reinvigorate Suplex Retweet in podcast form.
October 2017 saw the official launch of Eat Sleep Suplex Retweet in podcast format, with saw the team discuss the legacy of Eddie Guerrero.
As the months passed and the team grew, our projects got more and more ambitious. We started to interview Scottish wrestling talent to add an extra layer to our portfolio. We even did one show a day for a week straight in the lead up to Wrestlemania 34.
Now, with nearly 100 shows in our back catalogue, we celebrate our first anniversary. So instead of discussing a particular wrestling topic like we always do, we decided to do this show about….US.
With a larger panel than usual, we look back at some our favourite moments, memories, interviews and of course botches on previous shows.
