Extreme Rules Predictions
Tonight, in the Allstate Arena just outside of Chicago, WWE hosts the seventh annual edition of Extreme Rules. 8 matches will take place, with 5 titles being contested. To mark this event, the contributors of Eat Sleep Suplex Retweet have decided to make their predictions on how the matches will end up
Tyson Kidd and Cesaro (c) vs New Day – Tag Team Championship (Pre Show Match)
Although I think The New Day would get some amount of heat winning the tag belts in Chicago, the public aren’t bothered with them as they are struggling as a faction. They would have a good feud with Sin Caras team but I can’t see past Kidd and Cesaro as a safer pair of hands. – Cesaro/Kidd Win
Cesaro and Kidd win prompting a new day heel turn, although no face turn for the champs – Cesaro/Kidd Win
Cesaro/Kidd Win
Kidd and Cesaro to Retain – Cesaro/Kidd Win
Cesaro/Kidd Win
With the Chicago crowd set to be hot for Kidd and Cesaro, I believe this is the perfect chance to perform a double turn, completing the New Day heel turn. Interference from Xavier Woods will help seal the win – New Day Win
New Day Win
Nikki Bella (c) vs Naomi – Divas Championship
Naomi’s attitude thing adds an edge to her character but I don’t think she’s done enough yet to take the strap and Bella has grown into it as a credible woman’s champ. Bella win – Nikki Bella Win
Naomi wins by DQ following Paige interference. Nikki retains setting up triple threat between Nikki, Paige and Naomi. – Naomi Win
Naomi Win
Naomi Win
Nikki Bella Win
Naomi’s heel turn has been a refreshing change to her character, and with talk of Bella’s taking time off and turning face, I expect Naomi to win, setting up a feud between her and Paige – Naomi Win
Naomi Win
Dean Ambrose vs Luke Harper
The Wyatt family have been buried by the creative team and writers. When the Shield and Wyatt family were in the rampage both were very strong and drew gasps when they were in the same ring, the shield have been developed for main eventing while the Wyatt family have not had any development with the exception of Bray, despite holding him back during Wrestlemania with a needless Undertaker win. Ambrose and Harper both really need the win and I can see Ambrose winning it, mostly due to Ambrose being due it and wwe creative not knowing what to do with Harper….. Ambrose win – Ambrose Win.
Ambrose wins against harper after some hardcore stunt – Ambrose Win
Ambrose Win
Ambrose Win
Ambrose Win
Ambrose needs the win more to recreate the popularity he had before his feud with Wyatt. Harper can look strong in defeat, but Ambrose has simply lost too much post Shield to lose this one – Ambrose Win
Ambrose Win
Dolph Ziggler vs Sheamus
Sheamus is in good form since returning to action while Ziggler seems to in that quandary of being close to main eventing but somehow hot able to break into it despite his fantastic ability. A Sheamus win will further strengthen his bullying character however a Ziggler defeat kills all his momentum and leaves Ziggler with nowhere to go, while you could expect a Sheamus win, I reckon Ziggler will score the victory simply due to not killing the momentum – Ziggler Win
Sheamus wins to look dominant but Ziggler does like a low blow and avoids kissing his arse – Sheamus Win
Sheamus Win
Sheamus Win
Ziggler Win
Sheamus has been superb since turning heel, and sadly, I think Ziggler will be the first victim of his goal to take out the smaller wrestlers. I can see an eventual feud with Cesaro coming off this leading to Summerslam, with Cesaro defending his smaller tag partner Kidd. – Sheamus Win
Ziggler Win
Roman Reigns vs Big Show
Big Show is obviously being used to give Reigns credibility and as a result Reigns will win although I dont think that will end their feud. …expect Big Show going after Reigns on Raw for revenge… Reigns win – Reigns Win
Roman wins because he has to look strong as per – Reigns Win
Reigns Win
Reigns to win via duct tape – Reigns Win
Reigns Win
The combination of WWE’s continued pushing of the aging Big Show and the rumoured continuation of this feud into Payback, makes me think the veteran will get the win. Continued feuding with the decreasingly popular Show could actually help Reigns regain his Shield popularity – Big Show Win
Reigns Win
John Cena (c) vs Rusev – US Championship
WWE will want to continue the open challenge storyline simple as that.. Cena win – Cena Win
Cena wins just cause it’s Cena – Cena Win
Cena Win
Rusev to win via countout, Cena retains – Rusev Win
Cena Win
WWE wouldn’t have Cena end Rusev’s unbeaten run only to have Rusev take the title back the next month. That, plus the surprise success of Cena’s RAW open challenges will see him retain and continue renewing the US titles prestige – Cena Win
Cena Win
Daniel Bryan (c) vs Bad News Barrett – Intercontinental Championship
Tricky one…will Bryan be able to compete? How bad are Bryans injury problems? No matter what happens, Barrett will win the strap, either beating Bryan or someone else, if Bryan can’t compete…maybe Neville especially since Neville has beaten Barrett recently, although Barrett Win – Barrett Wins vs Neville
Bryan is injured and won’t compete so BNB wins by forfeit – Barrett Wins
Barrett with a forfeit but someone to come out and challenge him, like Neville and Neville to win – Neville Win vs Barrett
Barrett to win in about 30 secs – Barrett Win
Bryan Win
The match will not take place, due to Bryan’s injury, but Bryan will remain champ. Instead, Barrett will claim Bryan and scared and that no one is brave enough to face him. This brings Neville out for him to beat Barrett on his PPV debut – Neville Win vs Barrett
Either Barrett wins or the belt is vacated – Barrett Win
Seth Rollins (c) vs Randy Orton – WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Orton has looked very strong while Rollins has looked quite weak in the build up to this match, maybe too weak, however it doesn’t make sense giving the strap to Orton just now and it definitely won’t end their feud. The stipulation of Orton not being able to RKO is interesting and I can see Rollins beat Orton by using the RKO on Orton especially since Rollins has list the curb stomp and still unclear to confirmation of a new finisher as of yet and how unexpected would it be. It would have people talking about it and ignite their feud as Orton would rage on raw after it. Rollins win – Rollins Win
Rollins wins by escaping and Kane/j&j help him out – Rollins Win
Rollins wins but with a screw job – Rollins Win
Rollins to win via rko – Rollins Win
I want Orton to win but I think Rollins will – Rollins Win
No chance a year worth of buildup for Rollins to become the top heel will see him lose here. Expect Rollins to still be champ for Summerslam and Lesnar’s return. In terms of how the match will end, the impact of Kane as the gatekeeper will see him forced to help Seth. The authority will do everything to make sure Rollins retains, plus I would love to see Sheamus join the Authority here – Rollins Win
No face turn for Kane and Rollins to retain – Rollins Win
