Welcome to this, the debut podcast of Eat Sleep Suplex Retweet.
It’s been a few years since we started providing sporadic wrestling content as a blog. Now we look into the future with a new look on the sport by means of a regular selection of audio content.
And, it’s only fitting that we make use of some of our past content to kick off this new era.
A couple of years ago, we ran a succession of WHAT IF articles in our attempt to rewrite history. In one of these, we asked the question what if Eddie Guerrero didn’t pass away?
Part of the legendary Guerrero wrestling family, Eddie is considered by many to be one of the best of all time.
Having helped put the Cruiserweight style of wrestling on the map in the 1990s, Guerrero is most well known for his time in WWE.
Eddie quickly gained popularity in the company through his gimmick work. Be it the ladies man Lation Heat or his Lie, Cheat and Steal mentality, Guerrero produced a solid line of work.
The pinnacle of which occurred at No Way Out 2004 when Eddie beat Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship.
Despite all the success, Guerrero’s personal demons plagued him. And sadly, it was these demons that played a role in his unfortunate passing in 2005 aged just 38.
Being so young, Eddie could have kept on going for many more years. So to the reason, we ask the question, what if Eddie was still with us?
Steven Wilson and his panel look back on Latino Heat’s career and what could have been in this debut edition of Suplex Retweet.
