For wrestling fans, the dream is always to get involved in the industry in some way.

But for one man, he gave up a steady career for life to pursue what he loved to do.

Eddie Dennis ascended the higher education ladder at a rapid rate. By the age of 30, he was already the principal of the school he served at.

That wasn’t his passion though. His passion was the one-to-two weekend wrestling bookings he took in companies such as PROGRESS.

It was only when BritWres started to boom and seeing his good friends wrestle in the WWE UK Championship tournament that he truly realised his passion could be his career.

So he took the plunge and gave up the day job, and he has never looked back.

Just over two years since he quit his teaching role and its fair to say that Dennis’ momentum has increased exponentially.

His feud in PROGRESS with Mark Andrews was the talk of the UK indies for a year. The work he did in the ring and on the mic helped put him on the radar of WWE.

This showed as he became one of the main men early doors in NXT UK before a torn pec halted him earlier this year. But he recently returned in some style, winning the PROGRESS Unified World Champion at Ally Pally just a few weeks ago.

Here, Dennis spoke to Steven Wilson on his incredible wrestling journey to date and when we might see him back in the ring more regularly.
